I presented a lecture on ‘Aliens as Superheroes: Science Fiction, Immigration and the Photography of Dulce Pinzón.’ Pinzón employs the language of U.S. popular culture to overturn and complicate stereotypes of migrant workers as so-called illegal aliens in photographs that cast them as heroic figures whose work contributes greatly to both Latin America and the United States
