The role of affect and corporeal resonances has so far largely been overlooked in education. Based on findings in neo-phenomenological philosophy (Hermann Schmitz, Gernot Böhme et al.) and sociology (Hartmut Rosa), this paper argues for the inclusion of the dimension of the felt body (German Leib) in research and practice of foreign language teaching and learning.
