© Policy Press. This article examines the changing texture of intergenerational relationships in Ireland. Focusing on the young child as 'anchor' generation, we traced changes in the quality and significance of grandchild-grandparent relationships across four birth cohorts, through a secondary analysis of two major qualitative longitudinal datasets made available by the Irish Qualitative Data Archive. The article describes how we addressed the challenges associated with bringing these datasets into dialogue.
