H5P allows the creation of interactive content, including interactive video, virtual tours and branching scenarios, via an easy to use web-based editor. H5P content and activities can be integrated into H5P-enabled VLEs, including Blackboard, Brightspace, Canvas and Moodle. Through the Enhancing Digital Teaching and Learning (EDTL) project, H5P has been introduced to staff in a range of professional development contexts at Maynooth University, including our accredited postgraduate programme in Teaching, Learning and Assessment; one-day introductions to educational technology; and stand-alone workshops. Based on this, the poster will demonstrate how H5P can serve as a ‘Quick Win’ for developing digital learning and teaching skills. Content and activities created using H5P can be applicable to a range of disciplines and contexts. Confidence can be fostered, as teachers can quickly create professional-looking interactive resources. Working with H5P can support teachers to develop competencies across a range of areas and proficiency levels in the European Framework for the Digital Competence of Educators (DigCompEdu). Finally, since H5P does not require a steep learning curve or specialist skills, teachers can rapidly to prototype and develop creative solutions to pedagogical problems.
