This paper introduces the Erasmus+ THRIECE project, a partnership between early educators, primary school teachers and university academics in Ireland, Poland and Portugal, exploring educational ‘quality’ for children aged 0-8. Our presentation focuses on the ‘relational’ strand of the project which introduced the tool of 'mapping' drawn from Cognitive Analytic Therapy to facilitate 'relational reflective practice' in one primary school and two early childhood settings in Ireland. Findings include increased relational awareness, increased reflection, creation of a common language for relationships, improved relationships with parents, an increased sense of psychological safety and improved staff relationships.
