Racism is not an aberration, rather it is an ordinary feature of our world that is a symptom of white supremacy. The article draws from critical race theory to make sense of this assertion and critical pedagogy as part of the range of responses required to work towards change. Through the use of an autoethnographic research paradigm, the researchers draw from their own experiences and perceptions to make sense of these assertions and offer concrete examples for adult educators in how they too should respond to a topic that many adult educators tend to avoid.
